A pair of large pandas on the Memphis Zoo in Memphis, Tennessee, USA will return to China twenty years later, because the zoo’s present large panda mortgage settlement with the Zoological Gardens Affiliation of China is about to run out.
The zoo introduced yesterday that enormous pandas Ya Ya and Le Le will “return to China within the coming months”.
Ya Ya and Le Le joined Memphis in 2003 and the contract was renewed in 2013. The present mortgage settlement expires in 2023.
“Ya Ya and Le Le have been an integral a part of the Memphis group for the previous 20 years and we’re grateful for the time we will spend with them,” the zoo stated in a press release.
“Throughout their time on the Memphis Zoo, Ya Ya and Le Le assisted pioneering analysis and conservation tasks to show others in regards to the significance of their species,” the assertion stated.
